How to accept crypto payments on your website
You do not need a payment provider that holds your money. With send21, every order gets its own pay link, the customer pays from their own wallet straight to yours, and your site hears back when the payment is confirmed.
1. No code: send a pay link per order
For a few orders a week, invoices or custom work: create a pay link in the app for each order and send it to the customer. Each link is for one payment, priced in your currency, and you get an email when it is paid.
2. Shopify: connect your store
There is no send21 app in the Shopify App Store. You connect your store with your own custom Shopify app, using open reference code: the buyer picks "Crypto (send21)" at checkout, gets the pay link in the order email, and the order is marked paid when the payment confirms. It needs someone who can host a small web service. See send21 for business.
3. Any website: one API call per order
- At checkout, your server calls
POST /api/v1/payment-requestswith the order total, your currency, the coins you accept and the order id (see the quickstart). - Send the customer to the pay link, or embed it with the open-source checkout component, a drop-in
<send21-checkout>web element. - Register a webhook. When
draft.confirmedarrives with your order id, verify the signature and mark the order paid. - Use
reuseOpenForOrder: true, so a customer who reloads checkout gets the same link instead of a second one.
Do it safely
- Never mark an order paid from the browser. Wait for the signed webhook and check the amount, the currency and the order id on your server.
- Use your own receiving addresses. New accounts only let API keys use addresses you approved in the app, so a leaked key cannot redirect payments.
- Payments cannot be reversed. A refund is a new payment from your wallet.
Questions
Is there a WooCommerce plugin?
Not yet. On WooCommerce, or any other platform, create pay links from your server with the API, or send pay links by hand.
Do I need KYC to accept crypto on my website?
Not with send21: it never holds your money, so there is nothing to verify. You sign up with an email address. The rules that apply to your own business still apply to you.
Which coins can customers pay with?
BTC on-chain or over Lightning, USDC, USDT, EURC, SOL and ETH, across Bitcoin, Solana, Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and Polygon. You choose which ones you offer.
What does it cost?
No subscription or setup fee. One fee per paid order, from 0.49% down to 0.01%, capped at $100 and never deducted from the payment. See pricing.
